The Eucharist as enacted by the Earliest Christians

This paper considers the history of the Eucharist across its first three centuries, from its institution by Jesus at the Last Supper to the early fourth century. It will examine the form of the earliest eucharists, the nature of the community that enacted them and its leadership, and what was believed about the Eucharist, before considering a curious absence. It will conclude with general observations suggested by this absence.
