Like any city, Brisbane has a history. It has a character of its own, and many stories to tell. 2032 is a chance to take these stories to the world.
With that opportunity in mind, final-year History students at the University of Queensland are using digital mapping to capture aspects of the history of Brisbane. In the course WRIT3613 History in Action, student conduct original historical research and present their work in a format suited to broader public access.
Brought together, these explorations into Brisbane’s history are a showcase of student curiosity, research, and interpretation. Presented in ArcGIS StoryMap format, their research illuminates key themes and stories in Brisbane’s history and heritage.
