Monetary Circulation in Fourth-Century Asia Minor in the Perspective of Network Analysis
This paper presents a new approach to the study of coin circulation in ancient Greece. First, it outlines the methodological challenges involved, before briefly comparing the traditional approach with the new, network-based methodology. It then demonstrates the potential of network analysis by providing a detailed study of coin circulation in fourth-century BCE Asia Minor. The conclusion discusses the value of using network analysis to study coinage circulation and explores possible future developments of this approach.
