The Queensland Irish and Race: a preliminary survey

This presentation is a reflection on the Irish and race. Attention is paid to negative racialisations of the Irish, and Hibernian responses. It includes historiographical challenges, and an appraisal of Irish (Catholic and Protestant) participation in, and responses to, frontier settlement and warfare.
