Genetic determinism; misunderstanding or fundamental attribution error? Implications for our understanding of behaviour and personal responsibility.
Duration:
January 2017–December 2019
We are undertaking a program of psychological and philosophical research that seeks to examine (i) the factors that influence individual differences in deterministic perceptions of genetic information, (ii) the way determinism influences perceptions and judgments about the responsibility for behavior, and (iii) the extent to which this influences our expectations and aspirations regarding behavior and development of virtuous character.
