Scholars of royal supremacy in Restoration England have typically focused on debate over whether royal supremacy entailed a legislative power over ecclesiastical policy located in the king alone, or shared between king and parliament. This paper reveals an additional element to this debate: crown and parliament also clashed explicity over control of the common law judiciary.
