Researcher biography
Emeritus Professor Moore retired in 2015. His research interests include the history of Australia, Queensland, Pacific Islands, New Guinea, Papua New Guinea, and Solomon Islands,.
Emeritus Professor Moore holds a BA and PhD from James Cook University. He was Head of the School of History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics from 2008 to 2013. He held the McCaughey Chair in History.
In 2005 he was awarded a Cross of Solomon Islands for his work on Solomon Islands history. He was President of the Australian Association of Pacific Studies from 2006 to 2010 and was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academic of the Humanities in 2011.
