Betty Fletcher Memorial Travelling Scholarship
The Elias and Ellene Eliadis Scholarship
The Scholarship is offered through the generosity of Dr Paul Eliadis AM and is open to Higher Degree by Research Master of Philosophy candidates facing financial hardship, who are successful in receiving a base stipend scholarship to undertake research in Classical Literature, Ancient History, Ancient Philosophy or Archaeology of the ancient Mediterranean, with a preference for the study of the language and culture of ancient Greece.
This scholarship is a tribute to the parents of Dr Eliadis, whose father was born on the island of Karpathos and who emigrated to Australia just prior to World War Two in search of a better future and his mother who was born in Sydney of Greek parents originating from the island of Samos. This scholarship honours their lives and acknowledges the two nations now interconnected by their aspirations and family.
The scholarship is currently awarded and will be promoted through the School and the UQ Scholarships Office once open for applications again.
Established in 1996 by Mrs I.C. McCready in memory of her late husband Alfred Glen McCready, this scholarship supports students undertaking Honours in Classical Languages.

Established in 2020 under the Create Change Scholarship Match Initiative through gifts by the family of Anita McCrossin and Bazil Muir in honour of their studies within the Bachelor of Arts, this scholarship supports undergraduate students undertaking studies in HPI who are experiencing financial hardship.
Established in 2019 by Friends of Antiquity, this scholarship supports undergraduate students studying classics and ancient history who are facing financial hardship.
Established in 1994 in memory of Constantine Aspromourgos, this scholarship supports a UQ graduate to undertake postgraduate Greek studies.

This scholarship was established in 1990 in memory of the late Denis Joseph Murphy, a past Reader in History at The University of Queensland, and supports students undertaking research into the history of labour, the labour movement or the Labor Party in Australia.
