In normal, day to day life, we seem to treat what people say about their inner lives as a basic source of knowledge of their inner lives. However, this topic has not been explored in the literature. Anil Gomes has done very preliminary work by beginning to question whether there are obvious reasons why testimony has been omitted from the discussion. I propose to build on this by offering an account of how testimony can be a basic source of knowledge of other minds. Although it is unlikely that I will be able to show that testimony is strong enough to challenge the radical sceptic, I believe that it is possible to show that primary way that we seem to come to have knowledge of other minds can be explained in a rigorous way that it currently missing from the literature.
