About Studies in Religion

A historical sociological investigation into the social, political and religious cultures that influenced the growth of young-earth creationism as a cultural and social movement in the 1970s and how young earth creationists formed influential organisations in the Australian public sphere in the 1980s. It seeks to reveal the diverse features of the socio-political and cultural world of Brisbane in this period that encouraged the formation of young-earth creationism as a retrograde social movement.
