School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry staff and students from the Philosophy discipline are invited to join us for an Atkins Visiting Professor Masterclass with Peter Singer “the world’s most influential philosopher” to discuss ethics in the real world and the things that really matter. Participants should arrive at 3.45pm for a 4pm start. All enquiries to be directed to Dr Aurelia Armstrong.

Masterclass participants will receive free tickets to attend ‘An Evening with Peter Singer’ on Saturday 14 August.
Peter Singer

Peter is a professor of bioethics, with a background in philosophy. He works mostly in practical ethics, and is best known for Animal Liberation and for his writings about global poverty.
Peter is also the founder of The Life You Can Save, an organisation based on his book of the same name that aims to spread his ideas about why we should be doing much more to improve the lives of people living in extreme poverty, and how we can best do this.
