Some Sabbath Literary Sources Available to Luke

This presentation will list some of the Jewish literary sources, dealing with issues around the Sabbath, available to Luke – the author of Luke-Acts. It will examine three literary sources, the Tanak, Jubilees and the Damascus Document, observing how the Sabbath is positioned and portrayed within each. Examples of connections between the Tanak, Jubilees and the Damascus Document with Luke-Acts will also be identified.
