Presented by Sophia Kong
In the past four decades, Shenzhen is the fastest growing city in the world. My project is to research its housing development, which is closest to the livelihood, linking with other urban function. The affordability and quality of housing and living environment are key factors in the competition for human talents. My aim is to examine the housing development through 1979 to 2018 to study the change of people’s life and the urban development. My research will show that through the interaction with organizations, ordinary people have the power to enhance the urban creativity and competitiveness. This is of great significance in how Shenzhen attracts and retains talents and realizes the urban transformation and upgrading in coming period.
