Presenter: Graham Stanton (Thesis review milestone)

What practices of Bible engagement in youth ministry can effectively promote Christian spiritual formation in a culture of expressive individualism? This thesis will correlate insights drawn from the aesthetic pedagogy of educational philosopher Maxine Greene with key themes of Christian theology in order to propose a Christian Aesthetic Pedagogy (CAP) appropriate for shaping practices of Bible Engagement (BE) for Christian spiritual formation (SF) of teenagers. I will argue that CAP promotes the freedom of young people to explore and construct meaning while also affirming the authority given to the bible within the Christian tradition.
