From Gods to Saints of Seafaring in the Ancient Mediterranean
18 October 2017 7:30pm
Presenter: Dr Amelia Brown
In this presentation Dr Amelia Brown will discuss the Late Antique Mediterranean which was a predominantly coastal context of port cities connected by seaborne transport, as it had been for centuries. Travellers who identified as 'pagan' or 'Christian' alike aimed to reach shore again through the watery network which homogenized but also radically changed the languages, cultures and religions of these port cities around the Mediterranean.
This is a Solomos Society event.
